Modular Shawl Knitting Clint
Clint's design is inspired by the ancient art of quilting, which evolved into a modern, wearable shawl. Infinite client branch solutions allow for bold contrasts or subtle harmonies, offering a canvas for your creativity. Each block is knitted module by module, joining the main body as you go, simplifying the construction and making it portable and convenient for on-the-go knitting. A shawl entirely made with garter stitch, this project caters to most skill levels. Client is a large boomerang-shaped shawl constructed modularly to eliminate seaming. You'll start with a central star-shaped modular pattern, creating blocks separately and easily joining them whilst knitting. Once the central part is ready, you'll pick up stitches along the top and bottom edges. Then, you'll lift stitches for the side "wings" of your shawl.

Finalize your shawl's top edge with an applied I-cord, then pick up the stitches to knit the lower toothed edge.

Size: One size.
Approximately 190 cm along the top edge of the shawl and 60 cm deep.

To knit the modular shawl, you will need:
Fingering weight yarn.
Color 1 approx. 600 m.
Color 2 approx. 310 m.
Color 3 approx. 210 m.
Color 4 approx. 115 m.
Example shown in Isager Merilin yarn, 80% wool and 20% linen, 208 m / 50 g.
Colors: Color 1 - 10 (light blue), Color 2 - 59S (ochre), Color 3 - 16 (blue-green), Color 4 - 1 (orange).

Needles:
Needles A (for the shawl's garter section).
One 80 cm circular needle, in the size needed to achieve given gauge.
Recommended needle size: 3.5 mm.
Needles B (for applied I-cord)
Two short double-pointed needles.
Recommended needle size: 3.75 mm.
Needles C (for toothed edge).
Short straight or circular needles.
Recommended needle size: 3.25 mm.

Gauge for the shawl:
Measurements after blocking.
Garter stitch on Needles A: 23 sts x 46 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
One "Star" modular pattern block measures 8 x 8 cm.
